BHANGRA REMIX features a collection of Spirit Voyage's most beloved artists, as remixed with the skill and virtuosity of DJ Krishan. A Washington D.C. native, Krishan found inspiration during his extensive travels and time living in India, leading him toward a path that melds Eastern spirituality with American club culture. BHANGRA REMIX features both of those qualities in spades. The album includes songs from Snatam Kaur, Jai-Jagdeesh, GuruGanesha Singh, Mirabai Ceiba, Nirinjan Kaur and Gurunam Singh, pulled from each of the artist's recent albums. In the hands of Krishan, these warm chants are given a more upbeat bhangra-style spin, where electronic beats, ambient synths and keyboard effects join with Indian instrumentation.
