CD: Dakini

Dakini is a unique collaboration between world - renowned Indian fusion duo, IndiaJiva and Ayya Yeshe Bodhicitta. 'Dakini' (Sanskrit): is the female embodiment of enlightened energy. IndiaJiva are a combination of the unique talents of composer/multi instrumentalists Vicki Hansen and Ron Ragel. The duo have released over 12 CD's both nationally and internationally and are top selling artists in the area of Sacred and World music. Dakini features the vocal talents of Australian born Buddhist nun Ayya Yeshe and is a collection of ancient, time honoured chants and songs blended in with the powerful music of IndiaJiva. The practice of chanting and repeating mantras is a deep and profound undertaking. It is a communion with Archetypes of enlightenment and a reflection on the nature of compassion, emptiness and awakening itself. Ayya Yeshe became a Buddhist Nun at the age of 23 beginning a search for meaning that landed her in India in 2004. She felt the need to make Buddhism accessible and socially engaged and so founded the Bodhicitta Foundation, which today helps thousands of poor, oppressed and underprivileged people in the slums of Nagpur India.
